A 100% cotton print at 73 g/m², cut at 145 cm, carrying a structured seashell design. The dominant motif is a large scallop fan with fine radiating ribs, and it locks edge to edge with smaller shells — cowries with their central slit, cone and spindle shells — plus tight clusters of small petals arranged around a centre. Small white dots sit in the ground between them. The result is a highly symmetric, tessellated repeat that reads as one continuous surface.
The design
- Shell-led, not floral – the whole repeat is built from shells and marine motifs, which is less common than florals and gives a range a distinct point of view.
- Structured tessellation – motifs interlock rather than float, so there is no obvious empty ground and no soft edges to the repeat.
- Fine rib detail – the scallop fans carry fine drawn ribs, which keeps the large shells from reading as flat shapes.
- Strong ground colour – the ground does much of the work, so the design reads clearly at a distance.
- Reverse is lighter – the print penetrates but the reverse reads noticeably paler, as the folded shot in the gallery shows.
- Scale reference – the gallery includes a ruler shot so you can judge the motif scale against a known measure.
