A 100% cotton print at 85 g/m² and 145 cm wide. This is a light cloth — lighter than a standard poplin shirting — which is what gives it the soft, fluid fall these small dense florals suit. At this weight the weave is fine enough for the drawn line work in both designs to reproduce cleanly, and the cotton keeps it breathable against the skin.

The Cloth

• Weight – 85 g/m². Light shirting and dress weight; pale grounds hold a little light, so line a skirt or a fitted bodice if you need full opacity.
• Composition – 100% cotton: breathable, easy to wash, comfortable in warm weather.
• Width – 145 cm, a standard apparel width that cuts a blouse body or a dress panel with little waste.
• Handle – soft and slightly dry, with movement rather than stiffness; it gathers and drapes well.
• Sewing – use a fine needle (70/10) and a fine thread; light cotton puckers at the seam if the needle and thread are too heavy, and a French seam or a rolled hem finishes it neatly.
• Care – machine wash cool, line dry, press warm. Cotton at 85 g/m² creases lightly and presses out easily.

The Two Designs

• L-02 Coral Daisy Field – a dense field of coral and orange-red daisies with smaller buttercups and olive-green leaves on a cream ground. Warm, saturated and closely packed, so it reads as colour at a distance and as individual drawn flowers up close.
• L-01 Meadow Millefleurs – pink blooms, yellow buttercups and small blue forget-me-nots in fine ink line work on cream. Cooler and airier than L-02, with more visible ground between the motifs; the classic millefleurs effect of many small flowers rather than a few large ones.
