A 100% cotton print at 85 g/m² and 145 cm wide, carrying two traditional chintz florals at a large scale. The cloth is light, so the big motifs fall and move rather than standing stiff; the cotton keeps it breathable and the fine engraving-style line work in both designs stays sharp at this weight.
The Cloth
- Weight – 85 g/m². Light shirting and dress weight: soft, with real drape. Pale grounds let some light through, so line a skirt or a fitted bodice where full opacity is needed.
- Composition – 100% cotton: breathable, machine washable, comfortable in warm weather.
- Width – 145 cm. Note that large-scale motifs need more width per panel than small ones: check the repeat before you cut a full-skirt panel.
- Handle – smooth and slightly dry, with a soft body; it gathers and presses well.
- Sewing – a fine needle (70/10) and fine thread; French seams or a rolled hem keep a light cloth neat at the inside.
- Care – machine wash cool, line dry, press warm. Light cotton creases a little and presses out easily.
The Two Designs
- L-11 Dusty Rose Cabbage Rose – fully double cabbage roses in dusty pink and rose, with darker centres and sage-grey foliage on a cream ground. The motifs are large and closely packed, so the cloth reads as an all-over rose rather than scattered posies; up close the petals are drawn in fine engraved line.
- L-07 Buttercup Chintz – golden and pale yellow roses with buttercup-like five-petal flowers and small cream filler blossoms, over sage leaves on cream. A tonal yellow chintz: the whole cloth sits in one warm colour family, which makes it easier to wear head to toe and easier to match to a print in the same outfit.
Both are shown in one listing because the base cloth is identical. Tell us which design you want, or send your own artwork — the cloth and the weight stay the same, only the print changes.
What Digital Printing Gives You
- No minimum order quantity – no screens or plates, so no setup cost to recover and no volume threshold.
- Large repeats without screen cost – a big chintz repeat is expensive to put on a rotary screen; on a digital press the repeat size is a file setting, not a cost.
- Fine line work – the engraved petal detail prints as drawn.
- Colour count is not a cost driver – a multi-tone rose costs the same per metre as a two-colour print.
- Short runs and repeats are practical – sampling, small collections, topping up one colourway.
Commonly Used For
- Shirts and blouses – a soft shirt in a large floral; the scale suits a simple shape with few seams.
- Dresses – tiered, wrap and tea dresses; line the skirt if the ground is pale.
- Skirts – gathered and full shapes where a light cloth gives movement.
- Kimonos and light layers – the large repeat works on an open, unfitted garment.
- Home textiles and craft – cushions, table linen and patchwork where a chintz look is wanted.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the composition, weight and width?
100% cotton, 85 g/m², 145 cm wide.
2. Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. Digital printing needs no screens or plates, so there is no minimum order quantity and no setup cost to recover.
3. How long does production take?
5-7 working days from order confirmation.
4. Can I order only one of the two designs?
Yes. Both share the same base cloth, so tell us which design you want and order only that one.
5. Is 85 gsm too light for these large motifs?
No — it is what gives the print its movement. The practical check is opacity: line the skirt or bodice on a pale ground if you need it fully opaque.
6. Can I print my own design on this cotton?
Yes. Send your artwork and the quantity you need; we will confirm repeat size and lead time.
